Anthony Cowling

Tony left Vancouver BC. April 1941 aged 16. Had his 17th birthday in Shanghai in transit to Singapore. Lived the high life in Singapore with money and servants to look after his every need. 6 months later he was a POW in Indonesia without shoes and only a loincloth to wear. He was a 65 pound skeleton at the age of 21 when he saw freedom again.

Tony Cowling is a public speaker and he will be glad to entertain any requests for talks on this subject. He has been very well received at Military and Civilian Service clubs. In addition he has spoken to many high school classes where the students are of his age when he was taken POW.
